My most current project is created with the use of the goose photo seen in my last post. The photo was fun to make for sure. Using the abstract design the cutout gave was lots of fun, and I really liked using the Magic Wand tool to change the separate colors. It was super easy to use but was really rewarding when I finished. I would like to be able to use the magic wand tool on a photo without the abstract effect, to see how well it would work in creating a more realistic color change in a painting. The painting is titled, extremely originally, Goose. Cuz it is one.
Over the recent weeks, we were allowed to adventure over to our nearby zoo to take photos of different animals and objects. Over the course of the trip, I have chosen five of my best photos to display on this blog. This is a texture taken of a leaf. I was able to get extremely close up when taking the photo, allowing for remarkable detail. This photo of a log was specifically taken to display the photographic technique of visual movement through leading lines. In this case, the log is the leading line. This photo was taken to give an interesting perspective of the trees. The use of the sun makes a contrast between the light and shadow, and the view looking up makes the arrangement of the trees look almost like a pattern. For those unsure, that's a goose. I was able to catch it at a moment of action to make the composition more interesting for viewers. I cropped it so the goose wasn't in the very center and instead a bit off-center to make the picture more pleasing for the viewer. The top burrito of the photos I took, this picture is of a skull with the sun behind it. The lighting makes the composition seem more dramatic, and it is balanced symmetrically.
In a different style than previous projects, I was able to use a tablet to paint my most recent photoshop project. The painting is called After Image and was made by painting over a photo. The tablet was fun to use, but in general I preferred working with actually editing a photo than painting over it. I like how the use of photoshop lets you create a distorted reality, but with painting over an image, you have to both create the reality and the distortion, which gives it less of a wild, unexpected quality, as anything can happen in your own synthesized reality. Most of my project was made by constantly layering different shades of colors to give different tones to the objects and make them appear in shadow. I also used the burn tool as well to create shadows. This was the original photo, taken by a good friend.
