This is my last blog, and it's about this fabulous piece of quintessence as well as the semester as a whole. My work is called Boo, and it is an animation instead of just a single image. I made the image as simple as I could to show how even the simplest things can have some mystery hidden in them. I really enjoyed working with animation through photoshop. I have worked with other animation tools which are also really cool, but what I really liked about photoshop animation was that I was able to use other layers. Although I didn't do much with it this time, it looks like it will be really useful for doing animations with many objects moving in one scene. I didn't see a way to do this in photoshop, but it would be nice if it was possible to see the previous frame or two as an outline.
Since this is my last post, I also will be reflecting on the year as a whole. I really had no experience with photoshop when I first began this course, so basically everything I did on photoshop was new to me. I really liked using tools like the burn and feather tools to add realism; I would say they were the best tools that I used. I can't really choose my favorite project, because all of them were so different. If I had to choose my favorite photo-based design, I would choose my Old and New project, because I feel it came out the most realistically. If I had to choose my favorite drawing-based project, I would choose my Caricature project because I felt that it really gave me the best opportunity to show off my style. And then my animation project is in a category all to its own, although I enjoyed it because I feel it came out with a sense of surrealism that helped to further any future design choices I will have in art.
Overall, I think I like using animation and simple line-drawing the best in terms of my favorite format. I think that using simplicity in work is really my style; it doesn't take anything away from the morals I hope to convey in my works and gives all my drawings a sense of unity.
I'm not really sure where Digital Art will take me in the future, although I hope wherever it takes me it has good food! (Utter silence) As I don't have photoshop at the moment, I won't be able to do a lot of digital art on my own, but I may get it at some time and I'm sure I'll be able to do more with line drawings without photoshop, if to a lesser capacity. I think the thing I'll take most from Digital Art is that I found my style.
If I had another Digital Art class, I would like to see basically everything else in photoshop. There are so many buttons on photoshop, I can only imagine what all of them would do. I would like to see a more advanced version of placing photos into different settings. And I suppose that's it. G'bye!
