At the moment, I am working on a neato project in which we create our own logos and, to help with our projects, we are looking over other logos. So I found this one. First off, I like this logo because of its overall simplistic design. It creates a creepy image without containing too much information; it gets what it wants to convey out quickly. Another thing I like about it is how the text is arranged to make a skull-like face. It is subtle enough to not take away from the whole work but still prominent enough to be creepier when seen. The font chosen was chosen in a way to imitate the skeletal features of a face. The white text is jagged and uneven, looking like a skeleton's teeth and also keeping with the more angular design of the poster. The colors chosen are interesting because the background and the figure's shirt are close to opposite in color. This makes the figure seem more discordant with the background and makes it pop out. The words are organized specifically to create the skeletal face. This is the URL of the image: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/9b/bb/55/9bbb5541fa89e7762ce162a11ae8335b.jpg
This next project was created from an original photo that I took of myself that I then altered and drew over to make an even scarier version of myself (although that could be biased). This picture was a lot of fun to create. The use of the liquefy tool and tracing actually worked extremely well together and I was very happy with the finished product. It was also fun to add in drawings around it to give the photo more meaning. I would like to see what other options would be available with drawings and liquefications of real photos. The painting's title is What You See.
This is my fabulous Old and New photo. The purpose of this project was to take an old photo (in this case a picture of my grandpa and his band) and put it into a new context (in this case on a bird in space). This was a really fun project to make. The most prominent new tool I used was the curves tool, which I used to colorize the band. I feel that there may be another tool that would work better than that one, but for the purpose of the project it worked fine, although it took quite a while to complete. I also worked more with the Polygonal lasso tool and feathering, which worked really well overall. My work would be titled Take Wing. Below I have the original photo I worked with.
